Every kind of
"not at my usual desk".

How it works

Vacation isn't the only kind of "out". Track remote days, deep-work blocks, and medical absences as their own thing — with the visibility and the privacy each one deserves.

Each mode has its own colour, its own visibility rules, and its own column in reports. Remote stays in remote; deep-work in deep-work; medical stays private. One tool covers them all without conflating them.

Real teams aren't binary. Someone's at their desk on Tuesday, working from home on Wednesday, in a clinic on Thursday morning, and head-down in design work all afternoon.

Beyond vacation and sick leave

Real teams aren't binary. Someone's at their desk on Tuesday, working from home on Wednesday, in a clinic on Thursday morning, and head-down in design work all afternoon. Vacation Flow treats each of those as its own work mode, with its own rules about what teammates see and what reports count it as. One tool, every kind of "not at my usual desk".

Remote work as a presence signal, not absence

Working from home isn't the same as being off. Mark a day as remote and you're still on the team — the calendar shows you in a distinct colour, your status reads "remote", and people know they can reach you. Managers can pull a remote-vs-office breakdown without it polluting their vacation reports.

03

Medical and personal, with privacy built in

Health is a private matter. When someone marks a medical absence, the team sees they're unavailable; the approver sees what they need to approve; the rest stays between the person and HR. There are no reason fields leaking into a Slack notification, no diagnosis showing up in a payroll export. The whole thing is designed assuming you'd rather over-protect than under-protect.

Reports that keep the modes apart

Run a report by mode and the categories don't bleed into each other. Remote days stay in the remote column; deep-work blocks stay in their own row; medical absences are counted privately and excluded from the views that don't need them. Payroll, HR, and managers each get the slice that's relevant to them — nothing more.
