Where Vacation Tracker is strong
Vacation Tracker grew up inside Slack, and it shows. Requesting leave, approving it, and getting notifications all happen without leaving Slack or Microsoft Teams. If your company runs on either of those tools, that workflow is genuinely hard to beat. It also syncs with Google Calendar, Outlook, and iCal, and it has native mobile apps. The company has been around since 2018 and serves roughly 15,000 customers, so the product is stable and the edge cases are worked out.
Where VacationFlow is different
We built VacationFlow as a full web product rather than a bot. You get multi-step approval chains, work modes (remote, deep work, medical) so the calendar shows how people work and not only when they are away, shift management with templates and rotations, and per-office public holidays for 100+ countries. And the whole product is free for teams up to 20 members — no feature lockouts, no card. Vacation Tracker has no free tier and a $50 monthly minimum on its cheapest plan.

A 20-person team pays at least $600 a year on Vacation Tracker’s Core plan. On VacationFlow the same team pays nothing, with every feature included.
- Your team lives in Slack or Microsoft Teams and wants to request and approve leave there. We have no Slack or Teams integration.
- Your team is Android-first and needs a native Android app today — ours is still on its way (iOS is live).
- You rely on Outlook or iCal calendar sync. We currently sync with Google Calendar only.
- You need an API or webhooks to wire leave data into other systems. We do not offer one yet.
